let's make a pact to stop being ashamed of our periods

For sooo many years I was ashamed of my period. Never talked about it. Always mentioned it as “aunt flow”, “that time of the month” or something similar. And simply tried to ignore it as much as I could.

But periods shouldn't be something we are ashamed of! It's a natural process and quite honestly when you know what your body goes through each month behind the scenes it really is a beautiful process.

I know what you're thinking now…did she really just say that periods are beautiful? sure did. but hang with me here!

Understanding your period allows you to understand your body and your health and such a deep level. It allows you to know your body and be able to advocate for yourself.

You can’t do that if you are ashamed of your period.

Let’s flip the script and start embracing our periods for what they are–our monthly report card!

Painful periods? What can you change this month to see if your cycle reacts in a positive way?

Here’s some simple things you can change now:

✨stop drinking caffeine on an empty stomach, the goal would be to limit your caffeine intake overall but this would be a great start.

✨stop skipping breakfast and make sure you are eating ENOUGH

✨limit your ibuprofen or other NSAIDs intake

✨reduce your stress levels – this is everything from mental, physical, and emotional stress.

✨stop doing HIIT workouts daily–i can’t believe i just said that, but i said what i said.

✨reduce your alcohol consumption

✨ try a beef liver supplement (I SWEAR by this to fix my painful periods)

I hope you start embracing your cycle, your periods and all they have to offer!
